Dishwasher

The Merchant Kitchen & Drinks is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support daily kitchen operations and maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment while assisting the kitchen team with routine cleaning and support tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to cleanliness, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the commercial dishwasher according to established procedures.
• Sort and store clean dishes and kitchen items in designated areas.
• Keep the dishwashing station clean, organized, and properly supplied.
• Clean sinks, counters, floors, and other assigned kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and maintain proper sanitation throughout the shift.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and support tasks as needed.
• Restock clean dishes, utensils, and cookware for kitchen service.
• Monitor dishwashing and cleaning supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Help maintain clean and safe work areas during busy service periods.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine restaurant cleaning duties.
• Work cooperatively with cooks, servers, and other restaurant team members.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher, kitchen, restaurant, or food-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn cleaning and food-safety procedures.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to perform routine cleaning duties throughout the shift.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
