Dishwasher

Sunday In Brooklyn is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support daily kitchen operations and maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment while assisting the kitchen team with routine cleaning tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to cleanliness, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, plates, glassware, utensils, and cookware.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment according to established procedures.
• Load and unload dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
• Sort and store clean dishes and kitchen items in designated areas.
• Keep the dishwashing station clean, organized, and properly supplied.
• Clean sinks, counters, floors, and other assigned kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and maintain proper sanitation throughout the shift.
• Restock clean dishes, utensils, and service items as needed.
• Assist kitchen staff with routine cleaning and support tasks.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine kitchen cleaning duties.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and restaurant team members during busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher, kitchen, restaurant, or food-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to learn kitchen cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to perform routine cleaning duties throughout a shift.
