Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cookware are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain health standards
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients safely
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain tidy and welcoming
• Handle manual cleaning tasks such as scrubbing pots, pans, and other kitchen tools that require special attention
• Adhere to kitchen health and safety standards by practicing proper manual handling techniques and maintaining a clean workspace
• Assist with general sanitation duties throughout the kitchen to uphold hygiene standards in line with food safety management protocols

Qualifications

• Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large pots, pans, or supplies
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or industrial cleaning machines is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus but not mandatory
