Position Overview

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen and dish areas at Lodge Bread. This position supports kitchen operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and workspaces are clean, sanitized, and well-organized at all times. Dishwashers are expected to work collaboratively with the kitchen team and uphold the restaurant’s standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load, operate, and unload the dish machine in a safe and efficient manner.
• Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
• Keep the dish machine and surrounding area clean; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Wash and store all tableware, kitchen tools, pots, pans, and utensils according to food safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized dish room and storage areas.
• Ensure adequate levels of clean tableware and utensils are available for service.
• Handle all dishware carefully to minimize breakage and product loss.
• Bag and dispose of dish room trash and recycling at designated times.
• Restock dishwashing detergents, sanitizers, and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Assist in cleaning food prep and production areas, including floors and surfaces.
• Support the team by being available to assist in other roles or tasks as assigned by management to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• No prior restaurant experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Must be able to work in hot, humid, wet, and noisy environments for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stoop frequently throughout the shift.
• Must be able to stand and work on foot for up to five (5) hours at a time.
• Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds, up to 30 times per shift.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
