Dishwasher

Purpose, Scope, & Dimension of Job:

The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and other cooking equipment. This role ensures that the kitchen remains clean and organized, contributing to the overall efficiency and cleanliness of the kitchen environment. The Dishwasher works closely with kitchen staff to ensure dishes are available for service and ensures the proper sanitation of all items.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities .

Essential Duties/Major Accountabilities:

• Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure the dishwashing area, floors, walls, and shelves are kept clean and organized.
• Properly sort and store clean dishes and utensils in their designated places.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness by emptying trash, cleaning workstations, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Assist chefs and cooks by providing clean cooking utensils, plates, and other necessary items during food preparation and service.
• Assist kitchen staff as needed by restocking utensils, serving plates, and prepping food.
• Ensure that dishwashing supplies (e.g., detergents, gloves) are stocked and alert management when inventory is low.
• Maintain organization of storage areas for cleanliness and easy access.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and maintaining food safety standards.
• Assist kitchen staff as needed by restocking utensils, serving plates, and prepping food.
• Help with food prep tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables, chopping ingredients, or gathering supplies

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safety procedures.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role or in the food service industry.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in hot, noisy, and fast-paced environments.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
