Dishwasher

Lafayette House is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support daily kitchen operations and maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment while assisting kitchen staff with routine cleaning tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to cleanliness, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, plates, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and follow established cleaning procedures.
• Keep the dishwashing station clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Sort and store clean dishes and kitchen items in their designated areas.
• Clean sinks, counters, floors, and other assigned kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and maintain proper sanitation throughout the shift.
• Restock clean dishes, utensils, and glassware as needed.
• Assist kitchen staff with routine cleaning and support tasks.
• Monitor dishwashing and cleaning supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Help maintain a clean and safe kitchen during busy service periods.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine restaurant cleaning duties.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and restaurant team members.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher, kitchen, restaurant, or food-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to learn kitchen cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Able to perform routine dishwashing and cleaning duties throughout a shift.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Professional and dependable approach to work.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
