About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper / Cleaner to join our team at our Hong Kong Island location. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our kitchen and dining facilities. As a Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper / Cleaner, you will be essential to our daily operations, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards. Your contributions directly impact the smooth running of our kitchen and the overall guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store dishes, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils in accordance with health and safety guidelines
• Operate dishwashing machines efficiently and maintain them in good working order
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, work areas, and equipment regularly throughout the day
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients
• Maintain organisation and cleanliness of storage areas, walk-in coolers and food preparation zones
• Remove and dispose of waste and recycling materials appropriately
• Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies and ensuring adequate inventory of clean equipment
• Adhere to all food hygiene, safety and sanitation regulations at all times
• Respond promptly to requests from kitchen and dining staff to maintain operational flow

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a dishwasher, kitchen helper or in a similar cleaning role within a hospitality or food service environment
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices
• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Reliable, punctual and willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and take initiative when appropriate
• Fluency in English and/or Cantonese is advantageous
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in food safety or kitchen hygiene are desirable but not essential
