Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils by hand and with a commercial dishwasher
• Load and unload the dish machine, and monitor chemical and water levels
• Sort, stack, and store clean items in their proper locations
• Keep the dish pit stocked and organized, and return clean items to the line promptly during service
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors, mats, and work areas
• Take out trash and recycling, and clean bins and the dumpster area
• Clean kitchen equipment, including prep tables, shelving, sinks, and floor drains
• Receive and put away deliveries when needed
• Help with basic food prep, such as peeling and chopping, when asked
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including local health department standards
• Report broken equipment, spills, or safety hazards to a supervisor right away
• Support cooks, servers, and other team members as needed

Requirements

• Ability to stand for entire shifts (up to 8 hours) and work in a hot, fast-paced, wet environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to [50] lbs and to bend, reach, and stoop repeatedly
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to follow instructions and work well on a team
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be 18 years or older
• Food handler’s card, or willingness to obtain one within [30] days

Nice to Have

• Previous dishwashing or restaurant experience
• Basic English communication skills for coordinating with the kitchen team
