Duties

• Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines or manual cleaning methods to meet sanitation standards.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to recipes and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sanitizing work surfaces, sinks, and storage areas regularly in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas are tidy for guests.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives for prep work and other small appliances required for food handling.
• Handle heavy lifting of supplies, ingredients, and equipment safely following manual handling protocols to prevent injury.
• Follow all kitchen health and safety standards diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Assist with food safety management practices by adhering to proper food handling procedures during prep and service.
• Contribute to maintaining high sanitation levels through routine cleaning schedules and compliance with sanitation regulations.
• Support catering or banquet setups when needed, helping with large-scale food prep and service events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is highly valued.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, basic knife skills, and kitchen safety standards is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently throughout shifts.
• Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting.
• Strong attention to detail in cleaning routines and food handling processes.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to contribute to a lively hospitality atmosphere.
• Clean the area (sweep, mop, take out the trash)
