Position Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and organized. This role is essential to keeping kitchen operations running smoothly and supporting the kitchen team during service.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate and maintain the commercial dishwasher and ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed.
• Keep dishwashing areas clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Put away clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in their designated storage areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other tasks as needed.
• Remove garbage and recycling and maintain cleanliness in designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, and equipment as required.
• Follow all food safety, health, and safety regulations.
• Assist with closing duties to ensure the kitchen is clean and ready for the next service.
• Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure dishes and equipment are available when needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• FoodSafe Certification required.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced restaurant and brewery kitchen environment.
• Extended periods of standing and repetitive movements.
• Exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, and wet floors.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
