About the Role
As the Despatch Controller, you will play a central operational role in managing site assets and load execution to ensure key customer standards and shift milestones are seamlessly met. Working directly with drivers, site management, and external customer service representatives, you will be the key operational focal point on shift.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring shift starts to ensure all transport operations begin on schedule.
- Refreshing site dip data and planning AM shift allocations to optimize ullage delivery.
- Reviewing and adjusting shift schedules to accommodate rolled, dropped, or unexpected load changes.
- Generating and distributing shift schedules, driver paperwork, and daily operational reports.
- Actively tracking in-shift activity, intervening when drivers run behind, and adjusting plans for unplanned leave or vehicle breakdowns.
- Maintaining handover logs and shift reports to ensure seamless communication across operational teams.
- Upholding strict workplace safety standards and promoting a secure environment for all site personnel.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Prior experience in a transport scheduling, despatch, or transport coordination role.
- A solid working knowledge of Australian transport rules and NHVR regulations.
- Proficiency across MS Office applications (prior exposure to transport management systems like Ortec or WinDMS is advantageous).
- Outstanding communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing shift demands and solve operational challenges autonomously.
- Secondary education completion.
Onboard Requirements
As part of the recruitment process, the successful candidate will need to successfully complete:
- A comprehensive National Police Check.
- A pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening.
