Dispatcher

Job summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for the effective use of the GPS system – monitoring routes, ensuring vehicles are tracking, reporting issues to manager.
Role and Responsibilities

• GPS Tracking

• Assign buses to routes according to daily schedule

• Monitor for issues – buses not tracking, route deviations, excessive idle time; report issues to manager

• Operations

• Answer phones

• Dispatch vehicles to cover for accidents, breakdowns, BRS, customer request

• Ensure all routes are covered for the day

• Monitor conditions on campus that may require rerouting, notify appropriate parties

• Drug Testing

• Reasonable Suspicion Training

• Maintain client relationship

• Lost and Found

• Employer Relations

• Keep manager apprised of customer service issues – complaints, breakdowns, accidents

• Keep manager apprised of customer successes – compliments, thanks, personnel who have gone above and beyond

• Keep manager apprised of issues that affect service – staffing, driver call-outs, vehicle issues, weather

• Respond to emails, calls and text messages in a timely manner

• Drive as needed

• Other duties as required

Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Working knowledge of GPS technology
• Ability to troubleshoot GPS issues
• Previous dispatch experience
• Software experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook and other Internet applications
• Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement
• Must pass pre-employment drug test
• Complete pre-employment background check
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
