Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate the efficient movement of freight, vehicles, and personnel within our transportation network. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub, ensuring timely dispatching of shipments, managing driver schedules, and optimizing logistical operations. Duties

• Coordinate and assign freight shipments to drivers using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure on-time deliveries.
• Communicate with drivers, warehouse personnel, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Utilize transportation planning tools and logistics software to schedule pickups, deliveries, and fleet movements efficiently.
• Maintain accurate data entry records related to shipping & receiving, freight status updates, and dispatch logs.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers (third-party logistics) to coordinate shipments and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
• Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

Requirements

• Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms like AS400 or SyteLine.
• Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles within a supply chain context.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively while demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
• Demonstrated proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and using logistics software for shipping & receiving documentation.
• Familiarity with freight operations, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL coordination.
• Analytical skills to interpret transportation data for operational improvements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and quick decision-making.
• Basic understanding of logistics concepts including supply chain management, transportation planning, and logistics analysis tools.
