The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent customer service and organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and drive efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Compiles and maintains a list of available trucks
• Assigns vehicles/trucks to workload according to factors such as body type, driver ability, and seniority
• Prepares delivery tickets and related shipping documents and assigns drivers for scheduled deliveries
• Directs the activities of drivers using the Dispatch software
• Communicates with customers, taking orders for aggregate products
• Quotes prices and takes orders for COD customers, often recommending the type and quantity of material to be used. Enters orders into Dispatch software
• Records any information pertinent to the delivery of the loads, such as holding time, whether a person is present on the job site, etc.
• Confers with various plants to determine product availability
• Uses maps to determine job site locations
• Maintains records of mileage, fuel used, hours worked, and revenue for each driver

• Experience in a fast-paced dispatch environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to process paperwork associated with the delivery of loads

• Customer Service oriented
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Familiar with stone quarries, sand and gravel plants, etc in the MD, DE, and PA area

*Compensation is negotiable depending on the experience of the job applicant*

Job Type: Full-time
