Duties

• Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and updates.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve dispatch efficiency.
• Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to track shipments, freight details, and delivery statuses.
• Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with logistics procedures and 3PL (third-party logistics) requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, including freight movements, delivery times, and incident reports.
• Provide exceptional phone etiquette and customer service to address inquiries or resolve issues promptly.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment.
• Familiarity with transportation planning, fleet management, and supply chain operations.
• Strong analysis skills for route optimization and problem resolution.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of freight shipping & receiving procedures, GPS tracking, GIS mapping tools, and multi-line phone systems.
• Excellent communication skills paired with efficient typing abilities for quick data entry.
• Experience working with logistics software like SyteLine or AS400 is preferred but not mandatory.
