Dispute Resolution - Construction Associate

This Associate role will be responsible for handling contentious matters in relation to construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on complex and large-scale construction-related disputes arising from building construction projects
• Acting for employers and contractors in arbitration and litigations
• Undertake research and produce clear, accurate findings tailored to specific legal issues
• Discuss and negotiate with clients on complex construction matters
• Attend client meetings to discuss points of law and gain an understanding of client requirements
• Prepare bill narratives and summarise the nature of completed work
• Contribute to the management of the practice area by understanding specialist areas, firm capabilities, and business plans
• Contribute to marketing the firm’s initiatives, particularly within the area of specialisation
• Take personal responsibility for own professional development in line with the Firm’s values and business needs
• Raise professional profile in the industry through involvement with external bodies, as appropriate

Qualifications

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5-6 years' post qualification experience in dispute resolution related to construction
• Excellent level in spoken and written English; Proficiency in Chinese is an advantage, but not a requirement
• A good team player with strong interpersonal skills, commercial acumen and client management skills
• Dynamic, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
