Distributed Control System (DCS) Operator - Polyester/Petrochemical Manufacture

Job Summary

The DCS Operator is responsible for controlling, monitoring, and adjusting plant parameters via the Distributed Control System (DCS) to maintain optimal plant stability and safety in a 24x7 continuous process operation.

Key Responsibilities

• DCS Operations: Monitor, operate, and control central DCS consoles to keep process parameters within design specifications.
• Target Achievement & Troubleshooting: Assist in meeting production targets by making timely adjustments to process variables and conducting initial DCS-level troubleshooting.
• Safety Monitoring: Actively track alarm systems, safety interlocks, and emergency controls to maintain safe operating conditions.
• Coordination: Coordinate with shift engineers and field operators to execute manual adjustments, startups, shutdowns, or parameter corrections.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree / Diploma (D3) in relevant engineering or technical field.
• Experience: 8–15 years of DCS operation experience in a continuous process (non-batch) industrial plant (Polyester, PET, Petrochemicals, or Chemicals).
• Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of industrial process automation, DCS interface systems, safety protocols, and operational workflows
