Distributed Services Engineer

At K-LAGAN , we are looking for a Backend Software Engineer (AWS & Disaster Recovery Focus) to join our team and take part in the development of the Control Plane platform in Barcelona—a core component responsible for managing clients, tenants, and users, ensuring environment isolation, monitoring, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, DORA, etc.).

You will be responsible for:

• Disaster Recovery (DR) Design and Implementation: Analyze project architecture and design documentation to implement disaster recovery functionalities in an AWS and Auth0-based cloud-native environment.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build, deploy, and maintain the required cloud infrastructure using Terraform or OpenTofu, specializing in backup, recovery, master-slave data replication mechanisms, and subsequent reconciliation.
• Automation and Continuous Integration (CI/CD): Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines oriented towards restoring application state, users, and services following a DR incident.
• Software Quality and Resilience: Write clean and maintainable code using Python and Shell scripting, implementing unit and end-to-end (e2e) tests using frameworks such as Pytest.
• Technical Documentation: Thoroughly document disaster recovery (DR) rules and procedures and validate their effectiveness through operational simulations.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand in a distributed environment using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe), interacting with Security, Data, Product, and Legal areas.

What you need for this position:

Key Experience & Knowledge:

• Consolidated experience as a Backend Software Engineer with fluent development in Python and Shell scripting.
• Solid background in the AWS Native Cloud ecosystem: practical knowledge in Cognito, IAM, Lambda, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, KMS, CodePipeline, and CodeBuild.
• Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform or OpenTofu, focused on replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience working with MongoDB databases (replication mechanisms, backup, and data consistency).
• Advanced / fluent English level (C1), both spoken and written (essential for daily interaction with international teams).

Desirable Knowledge (Pluses):

• Experience with Auth0 and integration of Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
• Use of Python testing frameworks (Pytest) and development under OpenAPI standards.
• Previous work with asynchronous architectures, cybersecurity best practices in software, and regulations (GDPR, DORA).
• Official certifications or relevant training in AWS, MongoDB, or Agile Methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).

💰 Conditions & Perks:

• Location: Hibrid from Argentina, with a maximum of 2 days per week in the Buenos Aires office (optional and subject to review).
• Work Schedule: Full-time.
• Indicative Salary Range: Approximately €35,000 gross/year
