Distribution & Traffic Document Control Specialist

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

The D&T Doc Control Specialist will perform duties such as shipping, receiving, order invoicing, freight reconciliation, shipping material procurement, and maintaining electronic shipping document files. Will cross-train and participate in other areas of the department and business as needed, reporting to the SR. D&T Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process all domestic orders for daily invoicing before the end-of-day deadline.
• Approve courier invoices weekly to meet the end-of-week payment deadline.
• Update department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in coordination with the department Manager.
• Maintain and update accurate department training records to ensure continuous audit readiness.
• Manage electronic documentation within the ERP system.
• Conduct weekly, monthly, and year-end cycle counts with the department Manager and Supervisor
• Investigate shipment issues and report findings regarding customer complaints.
• File courier claims for damaged or lost shipments.
• Support the department Manager and Supervisor in meeting daily department productivity goals.
• Print and prepare sales orders for the shipping team daily.
• Pick finished goods from the inventory area to fill sales orders.
• Assemble, fill, tie, and pack materials into shipping cartons.
• Count, label, store, and stage released finished goods inventory.
• Train new or temporary employees on job duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station.
• Work occasional overtime as required by business needs.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Multitasking ability
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
