About the role

As a Distribution Center Materials Handling Specialist, you’ll keep product flowing smoothly from inbound freight to outbound shipments. You’ll combine precise inventory control with safe equipment operation to make sure every order is picked, palletized, and ready for the packing station on time.

A day in the life

  • Locate, count, receive, store, stock, and ship merchandise within the warehouse.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock, build pallets, and move orders to the packing station.
  • Receive and count incoming daily freight and record items accurately in the computer system.
  • Sort and stage materials on racks, bins, and shelves by product code or preset sequence.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies tied to freight claims.
  • Update product maintenance locations every day and complete daily cycle counts with accuracy.
  • Inspect and process returns back into inventory.
  • Review and respond to system queues promptly to keep workflows moving.
  • Load and unload merchandise for both receiving and shipping.
  • Drive company equipment (including forklifts and reach trucks) professionally and safely at all times.
  • Support daily warehouse upkeep—cleaning, sweeping, and trash removal—to meet sanitation and safety codes.

What you bring

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Trained and certified material handler; able to operate Reach Trucks and Forklifts.
  • Hands-on experience with cycle counts and RF scanners.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and work instructions.
  • Clear, professional communication with customers and coworkers.
  • Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Good physical health; able to frequently lift, push, or pull 75+ lbs on a repetitive basis.
  • Comfort working at a rapid pace to meet shipping and receiving deadlines.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Familiarity with the data works systems; able to input and retrieve data.
