Distribution Centre Security Officer

Lodge Security is looking for a dedicated Distribution Centre Security Officer to join our team on-site in Eastleigh. Working in partnership with Travis Perkins, you will play an essential role in protecting people, premises, and valuable assets across a busy, fast-paced logistics environment. This is a full-time, permanent position designed for someone who thrives on vigilance, operational discipline, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage access control points, conduct gatehouse duties, and oversee the secure entry and exit of staff, visitors, and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out routine searches to deter theft and actively support shrinkage control across the distribution centre.
• Conduct regular perimeter and static security patrols to identify vulnerabilities, deter unauthorised access, and maintain site integrity.
• Respond promptly to on-site alarms, security breaches, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational logs and complete detailed incident reports covering security events, health and safety matters, and accidents.

Required Skills & Experience

• A valid SIA licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor).
• Proven experience working in security operations, physical security, or gatehouse management.
• Strong background in loss prevention, asset protection, and conducting systematic personnel and vehicle searches.
• Sound knowledge of incident response procedures, reporting standards, and health and safety compliance.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach to conflict de-escalation.
• Current right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience operating in a distribution centre, warehouse, or logistics security setting.
• Familiarity with CCTV monitoring, control room tasks, and surveillance logging.
• Experience with alarm response protocols.
