Distribution Design Engineer

About the Role
We're looking for a Distribution Design Engineer to join our team. You'll be involved in delivering distribution design projects from concept through to detailed design for construction, working closely with internal teams, clients and vendors to deliver practical engineering solutions.
This is a great opportunity for someone with distribution design experience who enjoys technical problem-solving, producing quality designs and contributing to a range of engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver distribution design projects from initial concepts through to detailed design and construction documentation.
• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Complete design drafting using relevant engineering software.
• Prepare bills of quantities and construction cost estimates.
• Liaise with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements and deliverables.
• Manage project deadlines, identify potential delays and coordinate long-lead approvals.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, project requirements and quality procedures.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings and records.
• Contribute to a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture.

About You
We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation in electrical distribution design, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
You'll ideally bring:

• Experience in distribution design, including civil, structural and/or electrical design and drafting.
• Experience producing designs from concept through to detailed design for construction.
• Proficiency in relevant design software, including Poles 'n' Wires, LV Design, Canta, SPIDA, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of distribution design standards and relevant engineering codes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team.
• A current C-class driver's licence.
