What they need

LHH is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to oversee a high-volume distribution operation in the North Texas area. This position is designed for someone who operates beyond the scope of a traditional warehouse manager and can take a broad view of people, process, service, and overall operational performance.

The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who is equally comfortable working alongside frontline teams and communicating with senior leadership. This individual will inherit an established operation with an opportunity to strengthen leadership capabilities, improve consistency, develop employees, and prepare the organization for continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for day-to-day warehouse and distribution activities.
  • Oversee the effective movement of product through inbound, inventory, fulfillment, and outbound functions.
  • Establish priorities and ensure operational commitments are met safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and frontline employees.
  • Build accountability while maintaining a collaborative and team-oriented culture.
  • Monitor operational performance and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate workflows, processes, staffing levels, and resource requirements.
  • Drive practical continuous-improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
  • Partner with supply chain, sales, customer-facing teams, finance, and other business functions.
  • Ensure appropriate planning around labor, equipment, space, and operational resources.
  • Help strengthen employee retention, engagement, training, and advancement opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and operationally disciplined work environment.
  • Support periods of increased volume, including schedule adjustments when business conditions require them.
  • Provide leadership during operational challenges and ensure issues are appropriately escalated and resolved.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting activities related to the operation.

Ideal Background

  • Progressive leadership experience within distribution, warehousing, fulfillment, logistics, or a comparable operational environment.
  • Experience leading both people and processes across multiple areas of an operation.
  • Demonstrated success managing frontline teams and developing emerging leaders.
  • Broad operational understanding rather than experience limited to a single warehouse function.
  • Strong knowledge of performance measurement and operational reporting.
  • Experience identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable process improvements.
  • Comfortable working with warehouse and enterprise business systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and the ability to interpret operational data.
  • Experience partnering across multiple business functions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to audiences ranging from hourly employees to executives.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a willingness to remain highly engaged in daily operations.
  • Experience supporting changing schedules, multiple shifts, or high-volume/seasonal environments is beneficial.

Leadership Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, developmental leader who builds credibility through visibility and follow-through. We are particularly interested in someone who can assess an operation, recognize opportunities, develop people, and introduce ideas gained from other successful environments.

This role is well suited for someone who:

  • Leads from the floor as well as the office.
  • Develops people rather than simply directing them.
  • Uses data to make operational decisions.
  • Creates accountability without damaging culture.
  • Understands the connection between warehouse execution and the broader customer experience.
  • Is comfortable challenging existing processes when a better approach exists.
  • Can bring structure and consistency to a growing operation.
  • Has the executive presence to grow into broader operational responsibilities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite leadership position within a distribution environment in North Texas . Regular presence on the warehouse floor is expected.

The operation currently follows a primary-shift structure, although scheduling flexibility will be important as business volumes and operational requirements evolve. Occasional extended hours or weekend availability may be required during periods of elevated activity.
