Professional Scouter – Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer & Community Leadership:

• Work collaboratively with volunteers, community partners, and business leaders to identify, recruit, train, guide, and inspire volunteers to support and strengthen youth programs.

Program & Membership Growth:

• Drive progress toward established goals in program development, volunteer engagement, membership recruitment, and retention through strategic planning and relationship-building.

Community Outreach:

Expand Scouting programs by engaging religious, civic, fraternal, educational, and other community-based organizations, ensuring programs are delivered through trained and supported volunteers.Ensure all program sites receive consistent support through volunteer engagement, leader meetings, training opportunities, and scheduled activities.Partner with adult volunteers to ensure they receive the training and guidance necessary to succeed in their roles.Serve as a positive role model and maintain strong working relationships with volunteers, staff, and community stakeholders. Communicate program goals and objectives effectively to diverse audiences.Provide high-quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, training events, and program activities.Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet council and service area objectives.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred (official transcript with degree conferral required). Equivalent education and relevant work experience will be considered.

Work Schedule & Travel:

Ability to work varied hours as needed. Evening and weekend commitments are common. Must be able to travel for training at least one week per year.Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.

Experience & Skills:

• Scouting experience is beneficial but not required.
• Strong public speaking skills and comfort engaging diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, punctual, responsible, and creative.
• Self‑motivated with strong time management and organizational abilities, including budgeting and planning.
• Committed to high ethical standards and professional productivity.

Background Requirements:

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
