THE ROLE

We're looking for a District Manager to take end-to-end ownership of business and operational performance across a group of depots.

In this role, you'll translate regional priorities into clear district plans, lead and develop Operations Managers, and drive performance across revenue, profitability, customer experience, fleet availability, and people. You'll have full accountability for the district P&L while ensuring consistent operating standards and strong execution across all locations.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Own the district P&L and drive revenue, profitability, productivity, and cost performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers across the district, setting clear priorities and accountability
  • Define district priorities based on commercial demand, operational capacity, customer trends, and financial performance
  • Monitor district KPIs, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective action plans
  • Allocate labor and operating resources across locations to maximize utilization and service continuity
  • Ensure consistent execution of SOPs, safety standards, compliance requirements, and customer service standards
  • Drive workforce planning, leadership development, and succession planning across the district
  • Partner closely with Revenue, Finance, Fleet, People, and Central Operations to resolve business constraints and improve performance
  • Lead cross-depot improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Communicate district results, risks, forecasts, and recommendations to regional leadership
  • Travel frequently across assigned locations

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 7–10 years of experience in operations, ideally within mobility, rent-a-car, logistics, retail, hospitality, or another high-volume customer-facing environment
  • 3–5 years of experience leading multi-site operations and managing managers
  • Proven experience owning a multi-site P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and business performance reviews
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into clear operational decisions
  • Experience managing KPIs, workforce planning, resource allocation, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead through others, coach managers, and create accountability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Professional fluency in English; additional local language capability is a plus
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience working with business intelligence or operational management tools
  • A valid driver's license
  • Availability to travel frequently and respond to critical business needs when required

Bonus points for:

  • Fleet management or vehicle maintenance experience
  • Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or similar operations certifications
  • Experience leading organizational or operational change
  • Experience in highly seasonal or geographically dispersed operations

THE INDIE COMMITMENT!

  • A fast-growing, dynamic environment where you can have a direct impact on the business
  • Career growth opportunities within Field Operations and across our international organization
  • Continuous training, development, and coaching
  • Competitive total compensation package, including base salary ($120,000.00 CAD) and performance-based variable compensation
  • PTO, paid sick leave, health insurance, and additional benefits
  • Free road trips across Europe, North America, and Oceania
