We’re looking for a driven District Manager / Area Manager to join our New Zealand Operations team. This is a high-impact, hands-on, multi-site leadership role for someone who knows how to lift performance, develop leaders, and build momentum across a district.

Wendy’s is the fresh face of fast food in New Zealand: fresh, never-frozen 100% New Zealand beef, square burgers because we don’t cut corners, and the original Frosty.

The opportunity

Known internally as a District Manager, you’ll be where the action is, in our restaurants, working alongside leaders and teams to make great results happen. You won’t simply manage sites. You’ll energise teams, lift standards and build confident leaders across your network.

You’ll bring commercial focus, operational discipline, and the kind of leadership that creates standout customer experiences, strong restaurant standards, and crew teams who are proud to perform.

As Wendy’s continues to grow and evolve in New Zealand, you’ll also provide support to our IA Specialist and Restaurant Support Centre teams to support Image Activation projects, restaurant refurbishments and new restaurant openings.

What you’ll do

• Drive district performance – Take ownership of sales, profit, people, customer experience and restaurant results across your district.
• Bring out the best in your General Managers – Coach, challenge and develop restaurant leaders so they deliver with confidence, consistency and ownership.
• Create teams people want to be part of – Build restaurant environments where crew feel supported, motivated and proud to deliver.
• Turn insights into action – Use P&L, operational results and customer insights to spot opportunities and accelerate performance.
• Set and protect the standard – Drive consistency across customer experience, food safety, Health & Safety and day-to-day restaurant operations.
• Help build what’s next – Support Image Activation projects, refurbishments and new restaurant openings as our network develops.

What you’ll bring

You’re already making things happen as a District Manager, Area Manager, Operations Manager or Multi-Site Manager in QSR, hospitality, retail or another high-volume customer business.

You’ll bring a strong mix of commercial leadership, operational discipline and people development, including:

• Proven experience leading multiple sites in QSR, retail or hospitality
• Strong commercial capability, including ownership of sales, profit and customer outcomes
• A track record of improving profitability, operational standards and team performance
• The confidence to coach, challenge and elevate General Managers
• Strong people development, succession planning and leadership capability
• Operational instincts; you quickly identify what’s working, what needs attention and where to lift performance
• Energy, resilience, ownership and a drive for continuous improvement
• Experience with new restaurant openings or major refurbishments is a bonus.

You’ll also need a full New Zealand Driver Licence and flexibility to travel between restaurants.
