Overview The District Attorney's Office is hiring a Limited Term Diversion Specialist.

In this position, you will work with juvenile offenders in accordance with the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board standards (SOMB). It is an exciting time to be in diversion as we have increased our capacity and work with community partners to diversify opportunities for those in the criminal justice system to take responsibility while working on personal growth and repairing harm to the community.

We are looking for an individual who wants to help juveniles better themselves, prevent future unlawful behavior, and strengthen our community. The caseload for this position is primarily youth who commit sexual offenses and are eligible for Diversion.

The primary responsibilities of this position include assessing and working with juvenile offenders utilizing SOMB standards, as well as providing support and programming.

The typical work hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After a probationary period, telecommuting for one day a week may be available.

Applicants must include a cover letter addressed to Reenie Terjak, Diversion Manager. This position is limited term. Individuals hired into limited-term positions are eligible for County benefits; however, the position is limited in duration, dependent upon available funding or business need. Responsibilities What you'll be doing:

  • Assess individual clients’ needs and risks, identify appropriate treatment, make necessary referrals, adjust plans as needed, and track progress.
  • Perform direct supervision of youth, including home and school visits, and case staffing. Maintain accurate records of client compliance and non-compliance.
  • Communicate with supervising attorneys and victims’ advocates to ensure compliance with the Victims’ Rights Amendment.
  • Serve as a liaison between the District Attorney’s Office and schools, agency partners, and treatment providers.
