What they need

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a key leadership role in Hawke's Bay for someone who knows the utilities space and wants to make a real impact. As Divisional Manager - Utilities, you'll lead a business that delivers good work safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard across the region.

You'll own the divisional contribution to the regional business plan across financial performance, safety, people leadership, forward work, operational delivery and customer relationships. It's a role with real scope, real responsibility and plenty of room to shape how the division grows. If you're motivated by performance, progress and building strong teams, this is well worth a look.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Lead the utilities division to deliver safe, high-quality work for customers, on time and within budget.
  • Drive financial performance through strong business planning, budgeting, forecasting, capex and divisional targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of forward work through pricing, tendering, customer engagement and smart commercial decisions.
  • Grow strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers while managing risk and identifying opportunity.
  • Lead and develop your team by setting clear expectations, backing people to perform and creating a culture of accountability, safety and good work.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We're looking for someone with

  • Proven senior leadership experience in utilities, civil construction or infrastructure, with a strong track record of operational and commercial delivery.
  • Strong relationship skills and the confidence to work closely with clients, understand what matters to them and negotiate practical commercial outcomes.
  • Solid contracting and commercial knowledge, including a sound understanding of NZS3910 and disciplined contract management.
  • Financial management experience, with the ability to lead against plans, budgets and targets while keeping close to performance.
  • A people-first leadership style, strong safety focus and the ability to build capable teams who work hard, back each other and keep moving forward together.

He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. You'll have access to:

  • Medical insurance after the eligibility period.
  • Life insurance from day one.
  • KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.
  • Parental leave top up payment with additional return to work support.
  • Ongoing training and development, with clear career growth and progression opportunities.
  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.

Ko wai mātou | About us

At Fulton Hogan, Good Work is more than what we deliver. It's how we show up, how we treat each other and how we move forward together. We're not big on layers or ego. We're flat, friendly and practical, and we back good people to do their best work.

We take the work seriously, not ourselves. That means high expectations, honest conversations, strong support and the chance to shape outcomes without the stiff corporate feel. In Hawke's Bay, you'll be part of a team doing work that matters, leading from the front and helping drive the future of our utilities business.

Me pēhea te tono | How to apply
