Ai SOFTWARE MANAGER (C#/.NET)

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead cloud-native software engineering team responsible for building and operating a modern Azure-based platform and on-premises solutions in the Global Rail sector.

The role combines people leadership, technical direction, and strategic ownership, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, C#/.NET, and shaping the adoption of AI-driven capabilities across our products and services.

You will play a key role in defining the future technical roadmap for a Global Firm, ensuring our platform remains scalable, secure, and ready to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and intelligent automation.

Key responsibilities & duties include:

Team Leadership:

· Lead a professional development team focused on delivering engineering excellence through the promotion of existing and emerging methods.

Technical Leadership:

· Provide direction for cloud and on-premises solutions, proficient in the use of containerised environments.

· Follows best in class practice for architecture, security, compliance and overall system resilience.

· Provides direction for the effective use of CI/CD, infrastructure management and DevOps practices

· Demonstrates a strong balance between efficient delivery of new feature development with platform stability, scalability and long-term maintainability

· Contributes to the strategic direction of the platform development through engagement with internal and external stakeholders aligned with the strategic direction of our UK/USA-based Partner.

· Manages the evaluation of emerging technologies and patterns to ensure the platform remains leading edge and competitive.

· Lead in the continued evolution of the use of AI and ML capabilities

· Ensure responsible and secure adoption of these methods.

· Identify where AI can provide opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and acceleration of developer lead activities.

Pay: R1 400 000,00 - R2 000 000,00 per year
