The DMLT Technician (QC & R&D) at KBPL is responsible for executing precise laboratory testing across raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The role bridges daily quality assurance with developmental support-assisting R&D scientists with trial execution, reagent formulation, and stability testing while strictly adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO/NABL quality protocols.

Detailed Technical & Operational Duties
Quality Control (QC)
Perform sampling and routine laboratory testing on incoming raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Prepare chemical reagents, buffers, slide mounts, and culture media required for routine diagnostic assays.
• Monitor environmental parameters (room temperature, humidity, lab water quality) and log data daily.
• Assist in Out-of-Specification (OOS) and Out-of-Trend (OOT) investigations under the supervision of the QC Manager.

Research & Development (R&D) Support
Assist R&D scientists in compounding experimental reagent batches and preparing diagnostic kits.

• Run shelf-life and real-time stability testing protocols for new formulations.
• Document precise experimental yields, assay reaction times, and observational data in physical and digital laboratory notebooks.

Compliance, Maintenance & Inventory
Perform daily calibration checks for analytical balances, pH meters, pipettes, and spectrophotometers.

• Maintain clean laboratory benches and ensure compliant handling and disposal of bio-hazardous and chemical waste.
• Conduct weekly inventory counts of consumables, reagents, and diagnostic test kits to maintain reorder buffer thresholds.

Candidate Profile & Skill Requirements
Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognized state board/institute. B.Sc. in MLT or Life Sciences is preferred.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in QC and/or R&D within Biotech, Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, or allied Healthcare manufacturing organizations.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in handling diagnostic assay kits, biochemistry instruments, microscopes, centrifuges, and autoclaves.
• Practical understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 standards, and bio-safety protocols.
• Competency in basic MS Excel and Word for logging test output, inventory data, and generating basic analytical reports.
