2. Job Summary

The DMX Technician is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and troubleshooting DMX-controlled lighting systems and related technical equipment for events, entertainment installations, and company projects. The role ensures that lighting effects operate correctly, safely, and according to event requirements.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and operate DMX-controlled lighting fixtures and equipment.
• Set up DMX controllers, lighting consoles, DMX splitters, interfaces, and related accessories.
• Configure DMX addresses, universes, channels, and fixture profiles according to system requirements.
• Program and operate lighting scenes, cues, effects, and sequences for events and installations.
• Test lighting fixtures and confirm proper communication between controllers and connected equipment.
• Troubleshoot DMX signal issues, addressing conflicts, faulty cables, fixture malfunctions, and communication errors.
• Inspect DMX cables, connectors, power supplies, and lighting equipment before and after use.
• Coordinate with lighting operators, electricians, event technicians, and other technical team members.
• Assist with installation, dismantling, transportation, and storage of lighting equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
• Follow technical drawings, equipment layouts, event specifications, and instructions from management.
• Ensure all equipment is installed and operated in accordance with applicable electrical and workplace safety requirements.
• Provide technical support during rehearsals, live events, and troubleshooting situations.
• Maintain records of equipment usage, technical issues, and maintenance activities where required.
• Perform other reasonable technical duties assigned by management.

4. Requirements and Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of DMX512 lighting control systems.
• Understanding of DMX addressing, channels, universes, signal distribution, and fixture configuration.
• Experience setting up and operating DMX lighting controllers or lighting consoles.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic lighting and signal-related problems.
• Knowledge of LED fixtures, moving-head lights, stage lighting, and event lighting systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with lighting control software and consoles is preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety and cable management.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required by event schedules.
• Previous experience in live events, entertainment installations, stage production, or technical operations is preferred.

• The employee must follow company policies, technical instructions, venue regulations, and applicable UAE laws.

7. Performance Expectations

The DMX Technician is expected to:

• Ensure lighting systems are installed and configured correctly.
• Complete technical setup and testing within the required timelines.
• Minimize equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures during installation and operation.
• Support the successful execution of events and technical projects.
• Coordinate effectively with the technical and operations teams.
• Report technical faults and equipment damage promptly.

8. General Responsibilities

The DMX Technician must comply with company policies and management instructions. The employee may be assigned additional reasonable technical responsibilities related to lighting systems, event production, equipment installation, maintenance, and operational support according to business requirements.

9. Important Note

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
