Job Summary

Marlin Construction Services is seeking an experienced Dockbuilder to join our team for marine construction work in Sea Isle City, NJ.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in dockbuilding, marine construction, heavy civil construction, or commercial carpentry and is comfortable working outdoors and around the water. This position will involve the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of docks and related marine structures.

We are looking for dependable, safety-conscious individuals who take pride in their work and are comfortable working as part of a field construction crew.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, repair, and maintain docks and marine structures
• Perform framing, decking, bracing, and other structural carpentry work
• Assist with installation and handling of pilings, timbers, decking, hardware, and related materials
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
• Measure, cut, drill, fasten, and assemble construction materials according to project requirements
• Assist with demolition and removal of existing marine structures when required
• Work safely around water, equipment, and active construction operations
• Follow project plans, specifications, and direction from the Superintendent or Foreman
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements
• Work effectively with other members of the field crew to maintain project schedules

Qualifications

• Previous dockbuilding, marine construction, heavy civil construction, or commercial carpentry experience preferred
• Experience with structural or rough carpentry is highly desirable
• Ability to safely use construction hand and power tools
• Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working around and over water
• Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment
• Ability to follow instructions, measurements, plans, and safety procedures
• Reliable transportation to the Sea Isle City jobsite
• Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
