Dock Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Dock Manager to oversee daily dock operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe handling of maritime activities. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team responsible for coordinating vessel arrivals and departures, managing cargo handling, and maintaining compliance with maritime safety regulations. Your expertise will help optimize port throughput, uphold safety standards, and deliver exceptional customer service to shipping partners and maritime crews alike. This position offers a dynamic environment where proactive leadership and technical proficiency drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dock operations including vessel docking and water transportation activities to maximize efficiency.
• Coordinate with maritime crews, terminal staff, and external vendors to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Manage boat handling operations, including maneuvering vessels
• Lead a team of dock workers and maritime personnel by providing training on safety protocols, operational procedures, and equipment operation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including maritime safety procedures and USCG regulations; implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) of dock equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Qualifications

• experience in dock operations or water transportation industry roles
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment involving manual handling and heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of maritime safety procedures, US Coast Guard regulations, and water transportation industry standards.
• Skilled in boat handling techniques with familiarity in vessel maneuvering within port environments.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with maritime crews, terminal staff, and external partners.
