Dock Master/ Waterfront Operations Manager

South Wharf Yacht Yard & Marina, a premier full-service marina and boatyard located in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Dockmaster / Waterfront Operations Manager to oversee our marina operations and lead our waterfront team.

This is a full-time, year-round management position for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a first-class waterfront facility, delivering exceptional customer service, and creating a professional, welcoming environment for our members and guests.

The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strong boating experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage the day-to-day demands of a busy marina.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily waterfront operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and professional marina management.
• Lead, train, schedule, and supervise a dock team of eight or more employees.
• Manage seasonal and transient dockage, slip assignments, reservations, and vessel arrivals and departures.
• Coordinate waterfront operations for Nauti Jane's Boat Club, including vessel readiness, scheduling, and member services.
• Provide exceptional customer service while developing strong relationships with slip holders, boat club members, and visiting boaters.
• Supervise and assist with docking, line handling, fueling, and vessel movements.
• Maintain the docks, equipment, and waterfront facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness, appearance, and safety.
• Monitor marina safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable environmental and operational regulations.
• Coordinate with the boatyard, service department, and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain accurate marina records, reservations, and operational reports.
• Proactively identify and resolve customer concerns and operational challenges.
• Assist with seasonal marina opening, closing, and waterfront maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in marina, yacht club, or waterfront operations preferred.
• Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of marina operations, boat handling, docking procedures, and waterfront safety.
• Experience handling a variety of power and sailboats.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with marina management and reservation software.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable assisting with hands-on waterfront operations.
• Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays during the boating season as needed.
