DOFFER - 2ND SHIFT

Job Title: Doffer - 2nd Shift /

Will Train on 1st Shift

Reports To: Supervisor / Department Lead

Job Summary: A Doffer is a key member of the production team in the weave room, responsible for the efficient and safe doffing (removal) of full beams of yarn and replacement with empty ones. This role directly contributes to production targets and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Doffing Operations:

• Stop spinning frames when beams are full.

• Efficiently remove full beams and replace with empty ones.

• Restart looms and piece up any broken yarn ends.

Quality Control:

• Monitor the quality of the yarn as it is being spun.

• Inspect looms for defects or inconsistencies.

Machine Maintenance and Housekeeping:

• Clean and maintain the spinning frames and surrounding work area.

• Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the maintenance team or supervisor.

• Collect and dispose of waste materials making sure work area is clean.

Safety and Collaboration:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including proper handling of equipment and machinery.

• Work as part of a team to meet production goals.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Attention to detail, the ability to notice small defects in the yarn to maintain high quality.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lifting and moving heavy beams.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
