Dog Bather

DEER PARK KENNELS in Owings Mills, MD is looking for dog lovers for a bather position.

This position is a MORNING Part-Time position, start time is always by 7:30 AM when scheduled and you work until you are finished bathing all of the dogs scheduled for the day. Please read everything before applying to ensure this would work for you.

Grooming Operation:

We have three groomers that work for us Monday-Sunday based on scheduled appointments. Some dogs are pulled from the kennel while they are boarding to be bathed and/or groomed and some dogs are dropped off by their owners for scheduled appointments. Generally our groomers take 6-8 dogs per day, some are easy baths and some are in depth hair cuts. At times we may only have one groomer scheduled a day and sometimes there are all three scheduled; so it can range from 3-4 dogs a day up to 25 dogs per day.

Bathing Job Description:

Our bathers are here to help our groomers. Bathers are responsible for bathing all of the scheduled dogs per day based on how we train it to be done. All dogs get their ears cleaned, anal glands expressed, bathed, and dried while being "bathed". Bather's are also responsible for cleaning the bathing area, helping the groomers, and keeping up with the laundry while they are here.

Bathers must be here between 7-7:30 AM everyday they are scheduled, and work until all of the dogs are finished for the day. This could mean that you are only here for a couple hours and generally no later than 2PM, but it is solely based on how many dogs are scheduled and how long that takes each day.

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Must have reliable transportation (public will not get you to the kennel)
• Must have a general love and interest in dogs and cats
• Must be able to work any day of the week especially weekends (both Saturday and Sunday)

• Must be comfortable handling all breeds and sizes of dogs
