What they need

At Muddy Paws, we care for every dog like a member of the family. Our team creates a safe, structured, and enriching space where pups can enjoy their day and return home happy and healthy.

Working here means wagging tails, playful personalities, zoomies, puppy kisses, and plenty of fun along the way.

It also means hands-on work: cleaning kennels, picking up poop, mopping floors, supervising outdoor play in changing weather, spending much of your shift on your feet, and responding quickly when dogs need your attention.

What Your Day May Look Like

  • Overseeing structured daycare playgroups
  • Reading canine body language and addressing tension before it becomes a conflict
  • Encouraging appropriate play and keeping dogs engaged
  • Preparing meals and giving medications as directed
  • Cleaning boarding suites, outdoor yards, and shared spaces
  • Welcoming pet parents and sharing updates about their dogs
  • Offering enrichment, affection, and individual attention
  • Helping nervous pups feel comfortable away from home
  • Supporting teammates who share your commitment to quality care

A great team member does more than love dogs, they stay alert, follow procedures, and make safe decisions throughout every shift.

Our Team Standards

Everyone at Muddy Paws is expected to:

  • Keep personal phones put away while supervising dogs
  • Remain focused on dog behavior and group dynamics

  • Be reliable and follow through on responsibilities
  • Communicate and cooperate with teammates
  • Accept feedback professionally and apply what they learn
  • Help maintain a clean, welcoming facility
  • Make the dogs’ safety and well-being their first priority

  • Can work at least one full weekend per month, including both Saturday and Sunday
  • Enjoys an active, busy workday
  • Is comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
  • Brings a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Picks up new skills quickly and takes initiative
  • Is dependable and committed to their team
  • Can stay calm and focused under pressure
  • Understands the importance of working together
  • Has dog handling or animal care experience, although this is preferred, not required as we provide extensive training
