Dog Groomer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to provide safe, attentive grooming services for dogs of different breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments. The ideal candidate combines hands-on grooming ability with excellent customer service, clear communication, and a calm, patient approach to animal care.

Duties

• Bathe, dry, brush, and groom dogs according to their coat type and client preferences.
• Perform services such as haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance.
• Assess each dog’s condition and temperament before and during grooming, and handle animals gently and safely.
• Communicate with customers about grooming requests, their pets’ needs, and any concerns noticed during appointments.
• Maintain clean, organized grooming stations and sanitize tools and equipment between appointments.
• Monitor grooming equipment and supplies, and follow established safety and hygiene practices.
• Assist with safely lifting or positioning dogs when needed, using appropriate handling techniques.

Requirements

• Experience in dog grooming or animal care is preferred; equivalent hands-on skills and a willingness to learn may be considered.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Patience, attention to detail, and a caring approach to working with animals.
• Ability to safely handle dogs of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, including lifting or assisting with larger dogs when required.
• Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

Pay: $17.60-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 44.0 per week
