Job Overview
Leashrly Life, an established professional pet care company serving local families for more than 20 years, is expanding our services and seeking an experienced Dog Trainer to work with clients in their homes and communities.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity with the potential to grow as our training clientele expands.
Duties
- Provide private dog-training sessions for Leashrly Life clients.
- Evaluate dogs and their individual training needs.
- Develop appropriate training plans and goals
- Work on puppy training, basic manners/obedience, leash skills and common behavioral challenges
- Educate and coach owners so they can successfully continue training between sessions
- Communicate professionally with clients and the Leashrly Life team.
We're looking For Someone Who Has:
- Professional dog-training experience
- Strong knowledge of canine behavior and learning
- A positive, humane, reinforcement-based training philosophy
- Excellent communication and client-service skills
- Reliability, professionalism and the ability to work independently
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within an agreed-upon portion of our service area
Professional certification such as CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP, IAABC or comparable education/certification is preferred but not required for an otherwise highly experienced candidate.
Why Work With Leashrly Life?
Unlike starting or growing a training business completely on your own, you'll have the benefit of working with an established pet-care company with a large existing client base.
Leashrly Life handles marketing and client acquisition, allowing you to spend more of your time doing what you do the best - training dogs and helping their people.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. Please include your compensation expectations when applying.
To Apply: Please submit your resume or a brief summary of your dog-training experience, certifications/education, training philosophy, availability, geographic areas you're willing to cover, and compensation expectiations.
We are especially interested in trainers who are not only excellent with dogs, but who generally enjoy working with and educating their owners.
