Silver Spur K9 is an at-home Board & Train dog training company focused on providing high-quality, individualized training in a structured home environment. We intentionally maintain a low dog-to-trainer ratio so each dog receives consistent one-on-one attention, hands-on training, and proper care throughout their stay.

We are looking for a confident, reliable, and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. Our trainers are responsible for working with up to 6 Board & Train clients per day, following individualized training plans and helping each dog make meaningful progress during their program.

Responsibilities

• Train and work with up to 6 dogs per day enrolled in our Board & Train programs
• Follow individualized training plans based on each dog’s goals, temperament, and current skill level
• Utilize a balanced training approach, using appropriate tools and methods based on the individual dog
• Work on obedience, manners, leash skills, place, recall, impulse control, socialization, and real-world behaviors
• Provide structured training sessions throughout the day
• Reinforce proper behavior through consistency, clear communication, and appropriate timing
• Safely manage dogs in a home-based training environment
• Monitor each dog’s behavior, progress, and overall experience throughout their stay
• Create detailed daily report cards documenting training progress
• Record photos and videos of dogs during training sessions for client updates and company content
• Communicate professionally with the team regarding each dog’s progress and any behavioral concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and structured training environment
• Follow Silver Spur K9’s safety, handling, and training protocols

What We’re Looking For

• Previous professional dog-training experience preferred
• Strong understanding of canine behavior and body language
• Comfortable handling multiple dogs with different temperaments and training levels
• Confident working with training tools and a balanced training methodology
• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
• Patient and consistent with dogs
• Comfortable creating videos and documenting training progress
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a small team
• Someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs and takes pride in their progress

Our Training Environment

At Silver Spur K9, we believe quality matters more than quantity. Our low dog-to-trainer ratio allows our trainers to spend meaningful time working with each dog instead of rushing through a large number of dogs.

This position is ideal for a trainer who wants to be highly involved in the dog’s entire training experience — from daily obedience sessions and real-world exposure to documenting progress and helping owners understand what their dog accomplished during their stay.
