Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Dog Trainer to join our Argyle, Texas location.

This is a hands-on position responsible for training dogs, developing individualized training plans, conducting client lessons, and maintaining high standards of animal care and safety.

The ideal candidate is confident handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments, communicates effectively with clients, and enjoys working in a fast-paced training environment.

Trainers also have opportunities to earn additional income through commissions on training packages sold.

Key Responsibilities

Dog Training & Behavior

* Conduct daily obedience and behavioral training sessions.

* Work with dogs enrolled in board-and-train, puppy, and private training programs.

* Develop and implement individualized training plans.

* Address common behavioral challenges, including leash pulling, jumping, barking, and reactivity.

* Monitor, document, and communicate training progress.

* Maintain consistent training techniques and company standards.

Client Communication & Sales

* Conduct owner lessons, training consultations, and graduation sessions.

* Educate owners on training techniques, expectations, and continued progress.

* Recommend appropriate training programs based on each dog’s needs.

* Assist with selling training packages and earn commissions on qualifying sales.

* Maintain professional relationships with clients and provide excellent customer service.

Daily Operations & Animal Care

* Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs in training.

* Assist with feeding, exercise, enrichment, and general kennel care as needed.

* Maintain clean, organized, and safe training environments.

* Work collaboratively with kennel technicians, other trainers, and management.

* Follow company safety protocols, animal handling procedures, and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

* Strong understanding of basic canine obedience and behavior.

* Confidence handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.

* Willingness to work flexible schedules, including some weekends.

* Commitment to responsible, humane animal care and professional development.

Preferred:

* Previous professional dog training experience.

* Experience with board-and-train programs.

* Understanding of canine reactivity and behavioral modification.

* Experience conducting client consultations or selling training services.

* Professional dog training certifications or related education.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Compensation: $16.00–$20.00/hour

* Starting compensation determined by experience, skill level, and training ability.
