Duties

• Lead energetic walks for dogs of all sizes, ensuring safe and enjoyable outings in outdoor environments.
• Monitor dog behavior during walks, applying animal handling skills to manage different temperaments effectively.
• Provide basic training commands and reinforce good behavior during outings to promote obedience and socialization.
• Communicate regularly with pet owners about their dog’s activity, mood, and any concerns observed during walks.
• Assist with pet sitting, overnight in-home care, or special needs walking for dogs requiring extra attention or veterinary support.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure all safety protocols are followed to prevent injuries or escapes.
• Support kennel cleaning, animal restraint, grooming, and other pet care tasks as needed to ensure overall animal well-being.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior principles.
• Experience working with animals in veterinary settings, including veterinary technician or assistant roles.
• Proven ability in animal handling, including dog handling, animal restraint, and pet exercise routines.
• Familiarity with pet grooming, kennel management, and heavy lifting involved in caring for larger animals.
• Excellent client communication skills to update pet owners confidently about their pets’ activities and health status.
• Outdoor work experience that demonstrates stamina, safety awareness, and adaptability to various weather conditions.
• Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to pet care that prioritizes safety and happiness.
