Praline’s Backyard Dog Services is a team-based dog care company in Atlanta. For six years, we have given busy dog parents peace of mind through private walks with tailored enrichment, dog taxi rides, and membership-based care. We care for dogs in Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, Grant Park, Inman Park, Virginia-Highland, and other neighborhoods within seven miles of Midtown.

Here, dog care is skilled work, not a quick errand. Every dog gets a plan built around what that dog needs that day: sniffing, movement, calm connection, and mental stimulation. Not just a lap around the block.

The Role

We are hiring a Dog Walker/ Canine Enrichment Specialist (CES) for our Evening Team. You may know this job as a dog walker. Our clients come home from long workdays, and you are the reason their dog is happy, tired, and calm when they walk in the door.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. That is about 20 hours a week. You must be available for all five evenings.

Pay

• $20 per hour once you are working on your own
• Paid training at a reduced hourly rate
• Mileage reimbursement

Training

You will complete 20 hours of paid training before you ever care for a dog on your own. You will learn our THRIVE enrichment framework, shadow our team on real visits, and practice safe home entry, leash handling, and reading dog body language. We do not rush this part. Our clients trust us with family, and we make sure you are ready.

What You’ll Do

• Give each dog a private walk with tailored enrichment, built around what that dog needs that day
• Turn on GPS tracking for every visit
• Send a report card with photos and video so each dog parent sees how their dog’s day went
• Enter client homes safely, respectfully, and on time
• Follow each dog’s care plan, including safety notes and any behavior or medical needs
• Check in with the team on Slack

What We’re Looking For

• A real love and respect for dogs, and the patience to meet each one where they are
• Reliable transportation in our Atlanta service area
• On-time, steady availability Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
• Comfort working on your own and talking clearly with the team
• Prior professional dog care experience is a plus, not a must. We train.
• CPR and Canine First Aid certification is a plus. If you don’t have it, we will provide it.
• Must pass a background check
