Domestic Assistant – Part-Time

Please note: This position is currently being offered on a temporary basis to cover long-term sickness, although there is a strong possibility that the position may become permanent.

We are a friendly residential care home located on the seafront in Clacton-on-Sea, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Domestic Assistant to join our team.

This is a part-time position of 17 hours per week, working across 3 shifts, 08:00–14:00, including every other weekend.

About the Role

As a Domestic Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents. You will work as part of the wider team to ensure the home is maintained to a high standard while promoting the dignity, independence and wellbeing of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the care home and residents' rooms.
• Making and changing residents' beds as required.
• Assisting with the collection and safe disposal of soiled linen and continence products.
• Supporting with laundry duties.
• Assisting with the general upkeep and care of the building.
• Supporting residents to maintain a clean and pleasant living environment.
• Promoting residents' dignity, independence and chosen lifestyle.
• Reporting any accidents, incidents or concerns promptly to the senior member of staff on duty.
• Reporting any complaints or concerns raised by residents, relatives or visitors to the senior member of staff.
• Working alongside care staff and other professionals to ensure residents receive a safe and positive experience.
• Acting as a chaperone/guardian for medical or professional staff when required.
