Domestic Assistant – Westwood Care Home £12.71/hr | Part-time, 18 hours per week | Three 6-hour day shifts

We’re looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our friendly team at Westwood Care Home, a small, family-run care home for 16 residents. You’ll work independently and get on with your day, but you’ll also be part of a supportive team who’ll notice what you do.

What you’ll do

· Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal areas and offices to a high standard, following our cleaning schedules

· Wash residents’ clothing and bedding and return it to the right person (this matters a lot to our residents)

· Follow infection control procedures and use cleaning products safely, in line with COSHH

· Deal with spills as they happen and keep the home free of hazards

· Report any maintenance faults or hazards straight away

· Keep cleaning supplies and toiletries stocked, and keep equipment organised

· Fill in daily cleaning records

· Chat with residents in a friendly, respectful way and treat their rooms and belongings with care

What we’re looking for

· High standards and an eye for detail

· Someone reliable who manages their time well

· Happy working alone and as part of a team

· Fit and able to handle a physical, on-your-feet role

· Cleaning or housekeeping experience is welcome, and infection control knowledge is a bonus, but we’ll train the right person

Hours

18 hours per week, worked as three 6-hour day shifts, some alternate weekend working.

Shifts are 6 hours, so there’s no unpaid break and every hour you work is paid.
