We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Domestic Assistant to join our team at Parklands Hotel & Country Club.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys keeping a busy, high-quality leisure and hospitality facility clean, tidy and welcoming for our members, guests and colleagues.

Working as part of our domestic team, you will play an important role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility. From our changing rooms and communal areas to our sports hall and leisure facilities, no two shifts are quite the same!

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as alongside the wider team. Previous cleaning experience is beneficial, although a willingness to learn, a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude are just as important.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Cleaning, hoovering, sweeping and mopping floors throughout the facility.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in corridors, toilets, shower rooms, changing rooms and communal areas.
• Cleaning and sanitising high-touch surfaces, doors, mirrors, glass and other frequently used areas.
• Carrying out general cleaning duties throughout the hotel and leisure facilities as required.
• Operating commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Setting up and taking down the sports hall for activities, events and functions, including moving equipment and arranging furniture.
• Ensuring the sports hall is clean, tidy and ready for use by members and guests.
• Emptying bins, disposing of waste correctly and maintaining clean, presentable surroundings.
• Replenishing cleaning supplies and reporting any shortages.
• Carrying out regular cleaning checks to ensure all areas meet the required standards.
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns to the appropriate manager.
• Keeping cleaning cupboards and storage areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Responding to ad hoc cleaning requests and assisting colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the facility.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• Hardworking, with a positive and flexible approach to their duties.
• Able to work independently, manage their time effectively and follow cleaning schedules.
• Detail-oriented, with pride in maintaining excellent standards.
• Comfortable carrying out physical duties, including standing, bending, lifting and moving sports hall equipment where required.
• A team player who takes pride in helping create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Previous experience in a hotel, leisure club, commercial cleaning or a similar environment would be an advantage, but full training can be provided.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

Shifts operate on a three-week rolling rota, with the agreed shift pattern remaining in place for four months before changing.

Available shift patterns include:

• Monday to Friday: 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:30pm–10:30pm.
• Saturday and Sunday: 7:00am–2:00pm or 2:30pm–10:30pm.

Weekend working will form part of the rota.
