What they need
At TDN, we believe that when our employees have a great experience, our clients do too. We’re looking for compassionate Domestic Assistants who live locally and want to make a real difference close to home.
We provide client services across areas including George Town, Launceston and surrounding suburbs so you’ll enjoy short travel times and the satisfaction of supporting your own community.
You’ll only need to drop in occasionally to replenish supplies or attend face-to-face training sessions at the Launceston office, giving you the flexibility to focus on what matters most: your clients.
About the position
The District Nurses (TDN) is a long-standing Tasmanian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people age and live well in their own homes for as long as possible.
We’re seeking compassionate Domestic Assistants to join our southern region team on a permanent part-time basis.
As a Domestic Assistant, you will:
- Perform general household tasks including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping
- Support clients with washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes and linen
- Assist with meal preparation and light kitchen duties
- Complete unaccompanied grocery shopping and other appropriate errands as needed
- Ensure the home environment is safe and report any concerns
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation to reduce isolation and build positive connections
About you
You don’t need previous support work experience; we’ll provide full training. Prior cleaning experience will be highly regarded.
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Passionate about client service
- Committed to empowering clients’ choice, dignity, and independence
- Able to work autonomously and responsibly
- Comfortable using basic technology (e.g. smartphone or tablet use)
- Physically capable of performing the role
- An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Essential Requirements to be provided:
- A valid unrestricted driver’s licence and access to a registered, insured and roadworthy vehicle
- National Police Check
- Working with Vulnerable People (Employee) Check with NDIS endorsement
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Why Join TDN?
TDN is a values-led organisation, committed to empowering people and building vibrant, connected communities. As part of our team, you’ll enjoy:
- A supportive, purpose-driven workplace
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth
- Paid travel time between clients
- Not-for-profit salary packaging benefits
- Access to our Fitness Passport Program for discounted gym and pool membership
