Domestic Operations Agent

Team Worldwide DTW in Romulus, MI, is seeking an experienced Domestic Operations Agent in the Freight Forwarding/3PL industry. The ideal candidate will be well versed in domestic air and ground freight operations, customer service and communications, and carrier capacity operations.

Shift

Part-time initially, with possible full-time option available.

Requirements

As a Domestic Operations Agent, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Prioritize, schedule and route shipments for transportation via air and ground network.
• Interact with customers and agents to rate and quote shipments via air, FTL, LTL, hot shot and line-haul.
• Maintain and grow relationships on Team’s behalf with both existing and new customers and carriers.
• Proactively reach out to carriers to source, price, negotiate and track shipments daily.
• Source and secure capacity for time sensitive freight by leveraging multiple sourcing platforms.
• Work alongside team members to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Branch Office and agent communications.
• Local cartage and dispatch.
• Serve as a primary backup to dispatch, outbound and training for the WMS.
• Serve as a backup driver to delivery.
• Participate in the required on-call duty rotation.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of Freight Forwarding experience required.
• International and ocean operations experience helpful, but not required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Continual desire to learn and expand domestic knowledge.
• High level of resourcefulness and initiative.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a computer for prolonged periods of time
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
