Door Access Control Technician

Join our IDeACOM team as a Door Access Control Technician and become a vital part of securing commercial and institutional facilities through cutting-edge access control systems. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security access solutions, including electronic locks, card readers, biometric systems, and integrated security networks. Your expertise will ensure seamless, reliable access for authorized personnel while safeguarding premises against unauthorized entry. Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot door access control systems, including electronic locks, card readers, biometric devices, and remote access software.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on security hardware such as sensors, CCTV cameras, and low voltage wiring.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design documents to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting.
• Perform cabling and electrical work using hand tools and power tools to connect security devices to network infrastructure and power sources.
• Diagnose issues related to computer networking, telecommunication systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and surveillance equipment to maintain optimal system performance.
• Collaborate with clients to assess security needs and recommend appropriate system upgrades or new installations.
• Document all service activities thoroughly in reports and logs; provide detailed feedback on system performance and potential improvements.
• Stay current with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements and emerging security technologies to deliver best-in-class service.
• Travel to client sites (local and regional as needed)

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician in the security or low voltage systems industry with a focus on access control or surveillance systems.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to construction sites or building automation projects.
• Familiarity with computer hardware components, network configuration, remote access software, and schematics reading.
• Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting CCTV cameras, sensors (motion detectors), fire alarm systems, and alarm system sales processes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of locksmithing principles, NEC electrical codes, cabling techniques, and low voltage wiring standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively in diverse environments. Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
