Aussie Rules Piano Bar is looking to add a dedicated and dynamic member to our team in the role of Door Staff–Security. This position is essential to maintaining the vibrant, safe, and welcoming atmosphere that makes Aussie Rules the best party spot in Calgary.

As the first face our guests see, you’ll set the tone for their night—ensuring everyone from staff to patrons enjoys themselves responsibly and safely.

On a day-to-day basis, the right candidate will:

• Greet all guests with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
• ID all guests entering Aussie Rules to ensure compliance with age requirements.
• Assist the Host team during busy times, including pacing seating and doubling in host duties.
• Remain vigilant throughout the venue, identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate.
• Monitor guest behavior for signs of intoxication, erratic conduct, or safety concerns.
• Enforce venue policies regarding alcohol consumption and movement—no drinks on stage or outside the bar area.
• Conduct bag checks and inspect under tables for hidden liquor.
• Support serving staff in managing beverage consumption and identifying guests who may need to be slow-served or cut off.
• Maintain cleanliness in bathrooms and outdoor areas, including ashtray and perimeter checks.
• Help transport empty bottles to the liquor room.
• Observe and report incidents, including impaired drivers and suspicious activity.
• Ensure intoxicated guests leave with a safe commute option.
• Maintain a detailed daily log and assist with incident reports.
• Lock the front door after the last guest exits and clock in/out properly for payroll.

The right candidate will demonstrate on their resume:

• Previous experience in security, hospitality, or customer service.
• A strong sense of responsibility and situational awareness.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
